ABOUT
Nicole Schultz
London, ON Canada
Nicole Schultz is a graduate of Western University’s Fine Arts Honours Program, specializing in Studio Art with a BA in Education with Honours from Western University as well. A full-time artist, business owner, and Custom Framer, Nicole works across acrylic, wood, and mixed media, unified by her signature geometric, hard-edge aesthetic.
Her Fractured Frame series combines bold, precisely constructed paintings with hand-cut framing that extends the geometry and conceptual narrative of each piece. Complex colour relationships, layered forms, and sharp geometry create dynamic compositions that challenge the boundaries between painting and sculpture. The resulting works explore structure, energy, and emotion while inviting the viewer into the space between the fractured forms.
Nicole’s practice draws on emotion, nostalgia, dreams, and mysticism, blending post-painterly abstraction with sculptural components like wood relief, plexiglass-glass and irregular panels. Electric colour and precise geometry interact in visually charged compositions that explore the relationships between shape, colour, and design.
Nicole has ventured into free-standing sculptural work that explores the elements of her paintings in 3-Dimensions using wood relief and the fractured remains of her 2-Dimensional works - bringing harmony between series, and a cohesive, holistic element to her practise.
Her work is held in collections across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Hong Kong, with commissioned projects created for promotional labels, music artists, and regional city initiatives. Nicole is represented by The Benz Gallery and is the owner of Lemonade Frame Studio in London, Ontario.
